Privacy Policy

Nowio is a daily notes app for iPhone, made by Muhammed Karayazi (“we”). This policy explains what happens to your data. The short version: your notes are yours, they live on your device and in your own iCloud account, and we have no way to read them.

No account, no sign-up

Nowio has no user accounts. You do not register, and we do not ask for your name, email address or phone number. We do not operate a server that stores your notes.

What you write, and where it lives

Everything you create — entries, tasks, photos, videos, voice notes, categories and tags — is stored on your device.

If you are signed in to iCloud, that content also syncs through your own iCloud accountusing Apple’s CloudKit, so it reaches your other devices. It is stored in your private iCloud database, it counts against your iCloud storage, and it is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. We have no access to it and no ability to read, export or recover it.

Shared spaces

If you invite someone into a space, everything in that space becomes visible to the people you invited, for as long as the share exists. The invitation is created and delivered by Apple’s iCloud sharing. You can see the participants and stop sharing at any time from inside the app. We are not a party to the share and cannot see its contents.

Permissions the app may ask for

• Camera and photo library — only when you add a photo or video to an entry. The media is stored in that entry, like the rest of your notes.
• Microphone — only when you record a voice note. The recording is stored in the entry.
• Speech recognition— used to turn a voice note into text. This uses Apple’s speech recognition, and depending on your device and language, the audio may be sent to Apple’s servers for processing. It is not sent to us. If you would rather this never happen, do not use the transcription feature.
• Calendar — read-only, and only if you switch the calendar integration on. Events are displayed on the matching day. Nowio never creates, changes or deletes an event, and never stores or transmits your calendar data.
• Notifications — used for reminders you set yourself. They are scheduled locally on your device. We do not send push notifications.
• Face ID — used only to unlock the app, if you turn that on. The check happens on the device; we never receive biometric data.

Apple Intelligence and translation

Rewriting, summarizing and pulling tasks out of a paragraph run on your device through Apple’s on-device model. Your text is not sent to us and not sent to a third-party AI service. Translation uses Apple’s Translation framework and follows Apple’s handling of that feature.

Purchases

Nowio Pro is an in-app purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Apple — we never see your payment details.

To know whether your subscription is active, we use RevenueCat, a purchase management service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, randomly generated identifier for your installation together with purchase and subscription events (which plan, when it started, whether it renewed). It does not receive your name, your email address or anything you have written in the app. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.

No tracking, no advertising

Nowio contains no advertising, no analytics SDK and no tracking of any kind. We do not build a profile of you, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell or share data with anyone. The app does not ask for tracking permission because it has nothing to track.

Backups and exports

Nowio can write a periodic backup and export your library as a Markdown file or PDF. Those files are created on your device and go wherever you send them. Nothing is uploaded to us.

Deleting your data

Deleted entries go to Recently Deleted and are removed permanently after 30 days; you can empty it sooner. Deleting the app removes everything stored on that device. Content in iCloud is managed by you, in the iCloud section of the Settings app. Since we hold none of your content, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.

Children

Nowio is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Meaningful changes will also be noted in the app.
